Tuesday 13th January saw Court Fields take on Kingsmead in the first round of the district cup. This was always going to be an interesting game as it would be both teams first experience of playing 11-a-side. The first half was used by both teams to find their feet and attempt to use the greater space provided by the bigger pitch. Kingsmead started the stronger and were certainly the more dominant side in terms of possession and chances. However, a strong defence and quick counter attack was the Court Fields tactic which served them well. Both sides turned round with 1 goal each. Harry Sloman being the scorer for Court Fields. The second half was much the same in terms of how the game was played. A few key changes at half time saw Court Fields take the game on a bit more and a superbly struck left foot from Riley Sellick put Court Fields in front. Despite a final surge from Kingsmead the net remained elusive for them and the score remained 2-1 to Court Fields.
