Year 10 Army Residential Work Experience opportunity -Okehampton

The Army Work Experience is designed to give those interested in a career in the Army a taste of Army life. It is a 5 day residential course. Dates are to be confirmed but it will be during the summer term. Students are fed and accommodated free of charge.

Whilst on the course students may participate in some of the following activities;

  • Learn how to do Drill
  • Cook in the field
  • Field craft
  • Patrols
  • Build a Basha
  • Assault Courses

The Army has strict medical entry standards and due to the physical nature of the activities on Work Experience, students will not be able to take part if they have any of the following conditions:

* Heart conditions

* Respiratory problems

* Joint problems

* Pregnancy

* Chest pain when doing physical activity

* ADHD

To ensure Work Experience Events are a success, students must follow instructions and be well behaved at all times. A contact from the school should be available by phone at all times should an issue arise. The Army Outreach Team are there to deliver an exciting and different range of activities in order to promote personal development and not to manage poor behaviour.
