Students at Court Fields enjoyed a great week in Austria during half-term week. Staying at a wonderful little hotel in the village of Auffach, we set off everyday up the gondolas to the top of the mountain. By the end of the week everyone, including those who had never been on skis before, was skiing down from the top. Some new skiers were even doing Black Runs (the hardest category of slope) and enjoying trying out jumps. A few students are going to use the experience and their new skills in their GCSE PE exam. Great fun was had by all.
A fantastic day in the Mountains! Glorious sunshine and sauerkraut for tea (with pork and mash). Every group has now been able to ski down from the top of the mountain, although it took some longer (2 and a half hours) than others (20 minutes). Uploading pictures is a bit of an issue though – you may have to wait (these two are from yesterday – a lot gloomier and heavy snow). This blog post is being written in a huge swimming pool complex with an incredible water slide – which everyone is currently enjoying. They all seem to be enjoying the skiing and are getting better and better. A big happy birthday to Harry today as well – the daughter of the hotel owner has baked a cake for later!
