On Tuesday 28/03/17 the Computer Science students from Yr10 and 11 went to Bridgwater and Taunton College for some enrichment workshops. The first workshop was on bubble sort algorithms and using the programming language C++. The second was on computer hardware where students worked in teams to completely take apart a desktop PC, removing every component including the RAM, motherboard, fan, power supply and optical drive and then rebuild it and test it. The photo below shows Bethany Griffin, Sianne Chambers and Megan White working with the network technician from the College.
There will be no Ten Tors training walk this weekend due the forecast of wet and windy conditions.
Year 7 have just returned from their residential in North Devon
On Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th March year 10 and 11 students showcased their talents in the Court Fields production of Fame. The cast were challenged in roles and seamlessly executed the technical choreography to bring the show to life. I would like to thank all the students and cast involved both on stage and behind the scenes. Without this help and support shows like this would not be possible. The cast had a fantastic time and this was clearly seen on stage.
Last week the Yr10 rugby team beat Brymore 17-7. Congratulations Yr10 and good luck in your next match.
A report by the students who went on the Snowdonia residential.
It was a long 6 hour journey but it was worth it. When we finally arrived, settled in, and sat down for a lovely meal (chilli & rice ) made by Mrs Robertson. Afterwards we had a succulent pudding which was homemade apple crumble and custard. We went to bed at 10:00pm because we had to rest for the big day ahead of us.
We had just woken up and we sat down to a breakfast of not just cereal but also eggs and bacon etc, once again made by Mrs Robertson and it was amazing – it surely gave you all the energy you needed. After breakfast, one group set off to go rock climbing and mine exploring while the others prepared for a 7 hour long trip to Cwmorthin mine.
