Year 6 Transitions

 

Transferring School – September 2018 – Year 7 Admissions

The closing date for on-time applications for a school place in September 2018 was 31 October 2017. Applications made after this date will be classed as late and you will need to complete a paper application form which you can download from Somerset County Council’s website or contact Somerset Direct on 0300 123 2224 if you require one to be posted to you. Outcomes for applications received between 1 November 2017 and 23 March 2018 will aim to be sent out by Somerset County Council on 4 May 2018. After this date applications will be processed in strict date order of receipt.

Copies of the booklet ‘Secondary Admissions in 2018 – A Guide for Parents’ can be downloaded from www.somerset.gov.uk/admissions. Parents are advised to read this booklet before applying for a place.

In-Year Admissions

The number of in-year admissions has continued to increase.  We have a range of procedures to ensure that the transfer is a positive and happy experience.  We like new students to visit Court Fields with their parents before their starting date and have a tour of the School.  Special arrangements will be made to help and support new students during the first few months at the school.  Our experience is that students settle quickly and happily.  Please contact Mrs Linda Chard on 01823 664201 or SCH.552@educ.somerset.gov.uk to arrange a visit.

In-Year Appeals Procedure for 2017-2018

Admission Arrangements 2019-20

The consultation on Court Fields School’s 2019/20 admission arrangements is from 15 December 2017 until 31 January 2018.

If you wish to comment on these arrangements please e-mail admissionsconsultation@somerset.gov.uk.

A final copy of the determined admission arrangements will be displayed on the website by 28 February 2018.

After this date objections can be made to the Office of the School’s Adjudicator. For further information on how to make an objection please visit their website http://www.education.gov.uk/schoolsadjudicator/ or phone the office on 01325 735303.
