The following students, Matthew Caddick, Alex Henwood, Thomas Morgan and Charlotte Vile from Court Fields School took part in the ‘Young Chef’ competition, run by the Rotary Club. They designed a three course meal for two, costing less than £15. They were then selected to cook their meals at Bridgwater and Taunton College for local chefs and many supporters. Their food teacher Miss Coggins escorted the young chefs and was very impressed to see their independence in a highly pressured situation. They were judged on their table setting, presentation of the dishes, texture, taste and flavour combinations. It was a fantastic opportunity and experience for all the students that took part, and an exceptional achievement for Thomas Morgan Year 8 who received first prize, he will now go on to the next stage of the competition on Saturday 4th February. Matthew Caddick Year 9 received a close second place. Thank you to Philip Greenway for organising the competition this year.
